Strengths and friction can coexist
Someone may be excellent in a live incident, creative problem or complex project while struggling with routine reporting or inbox management. Neither cancels the other out.
Useful working practices
- Make priorities explicit rather than assuming they are obvious.
- Follow verbal requests with written actions.
- Protect periods of uninterrupted work.
- Use shorter checkpoints for long projects.
- Agree how urgent work will be distinguished from normal requests.
Adjustments in the UK
Depending on individual circumstances, workplace changes may count as reasonable adjustments. The UK Government also operates Access to Work, which can provide practical support for eligible people. neurospi.cc's resources page links to the current official guidance.
